Tonight I enlisted my friend Greg to go see Aces and Hearts and Hail Damage at the Stetson. Twas a good show although the crowd was less than energetic (granted, it IS a Tuesday night) I believe this marks the first time I've ever gone to a local show without having Mikey there so...good for me. Baby steps.
On the flip side of taking baby steps, holy Story Tree Project. I'll be a "TA" for this project and I'm absolutely incredibly stoked to be a part of it and completely entirely terrified. "The Story Tree aims to build a sense of community by discovering common threads among stories drawn from the cultural backgrounds of Grade 4-6 students and their families, presently living in the Greater Forest Lawn area of Calgary." I have no idea what I'm getting myself into but I sure hope I do a good job and don't let any body down. I know I have years of knowledge to back me up but I've never had the opportunity to put it into practice until now. So, come Saturday I'll see what I've got in me.

I spent more money than I have today on gas, text books and groceries (milk,eggs,veggies,canned soup,mr noodles). Not to mention batteries. Stupid expensive batteries for the camera and for the active pickups in my bass. Damn you batteries, damn you! I could have used that money to buy beer :(

you could do what my roommate and I did and start a jar that you have to put money into every time you make a your mom joke... but i guess that's more of a long term solution, depending on your usage of your mom jokes.

i dont know what active picups are, but in a nerdy outburst thinly veiled in an attempt to sound normal ill guess:
i dont fully understand how pickups work, but i know they use inductance, and the motion of the metal strings, so im assumg that passing a current through the string makes em work better? or through the coil under the string?
